The United States has extended its deepest condolences to the people of Sri Lanka as the island continues to face severe weather, flooding, and landslides triggered by Cyclone Ditwah.
In a message shared on X, State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott said the U.S. mourns the loss of life and expressed gratitude to those working tirelessly on rescue and relief efforts.
He added that the United States stands ready to support Sri Lanka’s relief operations in the days ahead.
