Police report that the bodies of five people have been recovered following a major landslide that struck near Yahangala Mountain in the Hasalaka area.
They said that twelve more individuals are still missing after the disaster, which occurred amid worsening weather conditions. Search and rescue teams are continuing operations despite difficult terrain and the risk of further landslides.
