The Disaster Management Center (DMC) has announced a landslide risk in the Meepitiya area along the Colombo–Kandy road in Kegalle.
Following the warning, the District Coordination Committee has decided to close the affected section of the road until further notice to ensure public safety.
The DMC urges motorists and residents to use alternative routes from the Kegalle area and to avoid traveling through Meepitiya unless for essential purposes. Authorities request the public to remain vigilant as heavy rainfall continues in the region.
