A high rainfall has been occurred in most of areas of Aththanagalu Oya basin. By analyzing the current rainfall situation and river water level of Hydrological stations in Aththanagalu Oya, it is warned that there is a high possibility of occurring a Major Flood Situation in lowline areas of Aththanagalu Oya and Uruwal Oya Valleys situated in Diwulapitiya, Mirigama, Attanagalla, Mahara, Gampaha, Minuwangoda, Ja-ela, Katana and Wattala D/S Divisions within next 48 hours.
Owing to this situation, there is a possibility of inundating some of the roads running through these lowline areas at some places.
It is requested to pay high attention in this regard by the residents and vehicle drivers running through those areas. Disaster Management Authorities are requested to take adequate precautions in this regard.
