Eight spill gates of the Deduru Oya Reservoir have been opened to a height of 10 feet each. As a result, around 55,000 cubic feet per second of water are being released into the Deduru Oya.
Authorities have urged residents living along the river to remain alert and take necessary precautions due to the increased water flow.
