The Sri Lankan government has announced plans to launch a nationwide branding campaign in the first quarter of next year to promote the country as a premier tourism destination.
Officials emphasized that promoting tourism alone will not suffice, and the campaign will involve a broader “nation branding” effort with the support of travel agencies and private sector stakeholders.
Preliminary discussions have already taken place with industry partners, and a draft plan has been prepared. The next steps include Cabinet approval and completing the procurement process to secure funding. Once finalized, the campaign is expected to roll out early in 2026.
Authorities hope that this initiative will strengthen Sri Lanka’s global image and attract more high-end tourists.
