The Flight Attendants Union of Sri Lanka has moved to dispel misinformation linking its members to a high-profile child maintenance case involving a prominent national cricketer.
In a statement, the union clarified that the woman involved is not an air hostess employed by any airline, countering widespread media reports that falsely identified her as one.
The union described such reports as misleading and damaging, warning that they unfairly tarnish the reputation of flight attendants and the profession as a whole.
Urging media outlets and the public to exercise caution, the union called for corrections to prevent the further spread of false information in Sri Lanka.
