Former Chairman of the SLBFE Mohamed Hilmi, has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) over alleged corruption-related offences.
According to CIABOC sources, Hilmi was taken into custody earlier today following an investigation into several complaints received regarding irregular activities said to have occurred during his tenure. The charges reportedly relate to financial misconduct and abuse of authority within the Bureau.
He is expected to be produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court as the investigation continues.
