A high-level meeting on preparations for Sri Lanka Expo 2026 was held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism. The session was co-chaired by Hon. Arun Hemachandra, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment, and Hon. Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Deputy Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship.

The meeting brought together senior officials, including Secretary to the Ministry of Industries and Entrepreneurship Ms. Thilaka Jayasundara, EDB Chairman Mr. Mangala Wijesinghe, Senior Director General (Economic Affairs) Mr. Dharshana, as well as directors, assistant directors, heads of mission, and commercial diplomats participating virtually.

Returning after 13 years, Sri Lanka Expo 2026 is aimed at boosting the country’s economic visibility and promoting an investor-friendly environment. Discussions focused on aligning institutional preparations, achieving export targets, and ensuring strong international participation.

Officials reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to making Sri Lanka Expo 2026 a landmark platform for trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
