The Sri Lanka Police has introduced the Arrested Monitoring Information System (AMIS), a digital platform aimed at streamlining the tracking of individuals reported for criminal or traffic-related offences.
AMIS enables officers to instantly verify whether a person has previously been reported for any offence, with access available to all police stations islandwide. The system allows police to enter a suspect’s details and immediately determine if they have prior records—facilitating quicker releases for those found innocent.
The platform also helps identify individuals evading court summons. For instance, a person reported for a traffic offence who is already flagged for ignoring court orders can be quickly detected and arrested through the system, Police said.
