The Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Drugs Corporation (SLADC) has earned Rs. 1,343 million from the sale of Ayurvedic medicines in the first 10 months of this year.
Chairman Geethamani Karunaratne said last year’s total revenue was Rs. 1,350 million, and this year the corporation expects to surpass Rs. 1,500 million.
She noted that despite a shortage of imported dry medicines, production levels have remained high, thanks to high-quality local production and the public’s trust in Ayurvedic medicines.
Currently, SLADC earns between Rs. 125 million and 150 million per month from pharmaceutical sales.
Chairman Karunaratne added that the corporation plans to launch several new Ayurvedic medicines and herbal products next month, along with a new ERP software system to improve operations.
