The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) plans to hold three additional rallies across the country following the success of its mass gathering in Nugegoda on Friday (21), SLPP national organiser MP Namal Rajapaksa said.
Speaking to the media, MP Rajapaksa confirmed that the next rally will take place in Ratnapura, with subsequent events scheduled for Matara and Kurunegala.
Meanwhile, former MP Harin Fernando, addressing a press conference yesterday (22), described the Nugegoda rally as a significant success.
“We showed yesterday that we are going to work together. No one is going to be left behind. No more crown princes will be born in this country again,” he said.
Fernando further stated that he is prepared to sacrifice his political career if doing so would pave the way for the reunification of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and the United National Party (UNP).
