The wedding ceremony of Sri Lanka Workers' Congress (SLCW) General Secretary and Member of Parliament Jeevan Thondaman is set to take place today (23) in India.
The event will be held at a major function hall and Hindu temple in Tirupathur, located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Thondaman will wed Dr. Seetha Sri Nachchiyar, an Indian medical professional and the daughter of former Tamil Nadu Deputy Speaker V.P. Duraisamy.
A limited number of Sri Lankan political leaders have been invited to the ceremony, including former Presidents Ranil Wickremesinghe and Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Jeevan Thondaman, the grandson of plantation leader Soumyamoorthy Thondaman, is the only son of the late Arumugam Thondaman, former leader of the Ceylon Workers’ Congress.
