The Examinations Department Commissioner General A.K.S. Indika Kumari Liyanage said preparations are underway to ensure students are not hindered by the adverse weather, noting that alternative transport plans have already been set in motion.
With several areas submerged and road access severely limited, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) has deployed boats to guarantee that schoolchildren sitting for the A/L exam can still reach their designated centers safely.
DMC officials reported that persistent flooding has created widespread traffic difficulties, prompting the need for immediate coordination between disaster teams and education authorities to maintain uninterrupted exam operations.
