The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning regarding the potential for severe lightning. According to the advisory, there is an increased likelihood of thunder showers accompanied by strong lightning in the Uva Province and Ampara District.
The announcement further states that temporary strong winds may also occur during thundershowers in these areas.
