Deputy Minister of Defence Aruna Jayasekara told Parliament today (20) that the security agreement between Sri Lanka and the United States will be tabled once again.
He made the remark in response to concerns raised by MP Dayasiri Jayasekara, who stated that although the government previously claimed the agreement had been presented to Parliament, only a Sinhala-language document had been submitted. The MP said that the full agreement had not been officially tabled.
Clarifying the matter, the Deputy Minister said the agreement had indeed been tabled earlier during the Defence Ministry Debate Day, but assured the House that it would be placed before Parliament again today for transparency and clarity.
