Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa told Parliament today that the opposition is ready to extend its full support if the government moves forward with holding provincial council elections under the previous electoral system.
He made these remarks during the fourth day of the budget committee stage debate, where the expenditure heads of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, and the Ministry of Labour were taken up.
The debate was opened by Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP J.C. Alawathuwala.
