Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne informed Parliament today that a three-member committee has been appointed to investigate a complaint lodged by MP Sunil Watagala concerning the conduct of MP Dayasiri Jayasekara on 24 September 2025.
The committee will be chaired by Deputy Speaker Dr. Rizvie Salih and includes MPs Upali Pannilage and R.M.R. Madduma Bandara. The panel is tasked with examining the incident and submitting a report to Parliament.
Meanwhile, the Speaker announced that MP D.V. Chanaka has been nominated to the Committee on Parliamentary Business. The appointment, made by the Committee of Selection yesterday under Standing Order 130(3), fills the vacancy left by the resignation of MP Namal Rajapaksa.
