Sri Lanka Police have arrested a man suspected of attempting a shooting targeting a hotel in the Midigama area.
The suspect, a 35-year-old resident of Tangalle, was apprehended in the Kapuwatte area in connection with the incident. Police also seized a T-56 firearm and a motorcycle from his possession.
Police suspect that the man may have intended to carry out a shooting at a hotel near the Midigama Junction, but the attempt was foiled.
The Midigama Police are conducting further investigations into the incident to determine the motives and whether others were involved.
