The government is advancing several tourism and infrastructure projects aimed at boosting economic activity in the Northern and Eastern provinces.
A cabinet paper was approved yesterday to support the development of Palaly Airport and the Kankesanthurai (KKS) Port, both of which will be expanded in partnership with India. Multi-million-dollar allocations have already been made for Northern Province development initiatives.
Further projects are planned for areas including Eravur and Kattankudy, officials confirmed.
