The government’s proposed free visa scheme will be implemented after the end of the tourism season, pending the Attorney General’s final advice.
The Ministry said the initiative is currently tied to legal concerns stemming from the previous VFS visa outsourcing case. Once legal clearance is received, the free visa facility will be activated during the off-season to boost arrivals.
Officials stressed that the delay will not negatively affect peak-season tourism, and assured that the scheme will be launched as soon as the legal process concludes.
