Sri Lanka has seen over 6,700 cybercrime incidents reported in the past eleven months, according to the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT).
Charuka Damunupola, an engineer at SLCERT, told the Daily Mirror that these numbers highlight growing concerns over online safety, particularly for vulnerable individuals.
Of the reported cases, 35 involved children, emphasizing the urgent need for stronger measures to protect young users from online threats.
