Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) chaired a high-level meeting today (17 Nov) at the Disaster Management Division in Colombo to assess the progress of key national disaster mitigation initiatives. Senior officials from DMC, NBRO, Department of Meteorology, and other related agencies were in attendance.
The meeting focused on three major projects: the Climate Resilience Improvement and Stabilization Project (CRISMP), Risk-Led Building and Maintenance Management Project (RLBMMP), and the Doppler Weather Radar Establishment Project.
The Defence secretary tary emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration and efficient implementation to enhance Sri Lanka’s disaster preparedness and response capacity.
