A 33-member delegation representing Israel’s tourism sector arrived in Sri Lanka last evening (17), marking a renewed push to strengthen tourism links between the two countries. The visit comes as Sri Lanka seeks to tap into emerging markets and diversify its global tourist base.
The team landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 5.45 p.m. on Fly Dubai flight FZ-579 from Dubai, where they were received by local industry officials.
Over the next 10 days, the delegation will conduct an extensive study tour across all provinces, evaluating Sri Lanka’s attractions, hospitality standards, and potential for tailored travel experiences for Israeli tourists. The findings are expected to shape future collaborations, promotional campaigns, and possible expansion of travel packages offered in the Israeli market.
Local tour operators described the visit as a timely opportunity to boost arrivals from a market known for high-spending, experience-driven travellers.
