A suitcase containing more than Rs. 110 million worth of Kush cannabis was discovered in a warehouse at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake.

Officials said the bag was found in a storage facility used for unclaimed or confiscated luggage by airport customs.

Investigations revealed that the suitcase had been abandoned by a passenger who arrived from Bangkok, Thailand, on a SriLankan Airlines flight on March 17.

The narcotics, weighing over 11 kilograms, were concealed in polythene packages inside the bag.
