Tamil Progressive Alliance (DPF) Deputy Leader and MP Palani Digambaram announced in Hatton today (16) that he will not support the joint opposition rally scheduled to take place in Colombo on the 21st.
Addressing an event, Digambaram said he is thankful to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake for increasing the daily wage of estate workers to Rs. 1,750, adding that he will fully support all government measures aimed at resolving the issues faced by estate communities.
He also claimed that recent media narratives suggesting estate politicians have abandoned their people are deliberate propaganda orchestrated by certain factions within the government.
