Speaking to the media, Rajapaksa said, “Today, the government has not fulfilled the promises made to the farmers. People are openly criticizing the government for the injustices done to potato, pumpkin, and salt farmers. Farmers have even taken to the streets to protest. The government has also failed the country’s graduates and has not delivered on promises made to the public.”
He added, “We are not afraid of the government’s false accusations. We urge all parties deceived by its unfulfilled promises to join us in Nugegoda on the 21st and protest against the government. The government aims to suppress opposing voices and promote only its own agenda, and this must be challenged.”
