The Education Ministry has introduced a revised set of school hours for Muslim schools, marking a key step in the rollout of the latest national education reforms.

The new schedule, issued through Circular No. 34/2025 on November 4 and followed by detailed recommendations from the Director of the Muslim School Department on November 13, outlines specific operating times for the week.

The directive, sent to provincial and zonal education authorities as well as principals of government and government-assisted private schools, specifies that Muslim schools will function from 7.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. on Mondays, from 7.30 a.m. to 2.50 p.m. on Tuesdays to Thursdays, and from 7.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. on Fridays.

Officials said the updated timetables have been distributed to ensure uniform implementation across all Muslim schools as part of the broader reforms aimed at improving administrative consistency and student learning environments.
