The Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies, operating under the Ministry of Science and Technology, launched its 40th anniversary celebration series.The event was held under the patronage of Science and Technology Minister Prof. Krishantha Abesena, with Ministry Secretary Mohammed Nawavi in attendance.
During the ceremony, the Institute paid tribute to the late space science pioneer Arthur C. Clarke. Awards and certificates were also presented to scientists in recognition of their outstanding research contributions and long-term service to the institution and the nation.

As well as a commemoration of Mr. Clark, awards and certificates were presented here under the initiative of the Minister for evaluating the scientists who conducted special research by bringing a reputation to the institution and the country and for evaluating the long term service of the institution.
Professor Ajith Pascual from Moratuwa University delivered a special lecture, several scientific presentations were also included in the series of celebrations.
A science and technology exhibition and open public day was also organized for the 40th anniversary of the institute and National Science Week.
