The report and recommendations of the committee appointed to review and propose the repeal of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) have been officially handed over to Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara.
The submission was made by the committee’s chairman, President’s Counsel Rienzi Arsakularatne.
The committee was tasked with studying the existing provisions of the PTA and formulating proposals to replace it with new legislation that aligns with international human rights standards while ensuring national security.
