The Department of Meteorology says showery weather conditions are expected to enhance over the Northern, North-Central, and Eastern Provinces in the coming days.
Showers may occur at times in these areas, while showers or thundershowers are likely in other parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75mm can be expected in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western Provinces, as well as in Galle and Matara districts.
Misty conditions are also likely in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva Provinces, and in the Ampara District during the early morning hours.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize the risk of damages caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
