The Cabinet has approved a proposal presented by the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security, and Cooperative Development to appoint Tharani Kumaradasa, a Grade I officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, as the Commissioner of Cooperative Development and Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
Mrs. Kumaradasa is currently serving as a Senior Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security, and Cooperative Development.
The proposal follows a request to release the incumbent officer, H.A. Asha Hapuarachchi, also a Grade I officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, from her duties as the Commissioner of Cooperative Development and Registrar of Cooperative Societies. Accordingly, the Cabinet approved her release and the appointment of Tharani Kumaradasa to fill the resulting vacancy.
