In line with World Science Day, which falls on November 10, the Ministry of Science and Technology organized the National Science Day celebration and the inauguration of National Science Week 2025, held yesterday (10) under the patronage of Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Chrishantha Abeyseena.
This year’s theme for Science Week is “Building Trust in Science for a Transformative Future: Science for Tomorrow’s Sri Lanka.”
The initiative aims to promote science literacy and raise public awareness about modern scientific developments, research, innovations, and emerging global technological trends. By bringing science closer to the public, the Ministry seeks to foster a scientifically aware and progressive society.
Following the official inauguration of National Science Week, the first event featured two expert discussions focused on scientific approaches to strengthening policy formulation and diplomatic relations in the fields of science and technology.
The discussions were attended by leading scholars and professionals representing various scientific disciplines, marking a significant step toward integrating science into national development and governance.
