A consignment of perfumes valued at around Rs. 100 million, illegally imported into the country, has been seized by the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA).
The raid was carried out today (10) at a house in Gothatuwa, Rajagiriya, where the stock of perfumes was discovered.
According to CAA officials, the perfumes had been illegally brought into Sri Lanka from Dubai without proper import documentation or approval.
Further investigations are underway to identify those involved in the smuggling operation and to determine how the stock was distributed locally, the CAA said.
