A tragic incident in Goseong County, South Gyeongsang, South Korea, has claimed the lives of two Sri Lankan migrant workers and a Korean site supervisor. The three were discovered inside a large water tank at a land-based fish farm around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Police said the victims two Sri Lankans in their 20s and 30s and a Korean man in his 50s were found in a reservoir tank measuring 4m by 3m by 2m, used to supply water to fish breeding units. The discovery followed a report from the supervisor’s family after he was reported missing earlier that evening.
One of the Sri Lankans was wearing work attire, while the others were in regular clothes, prompting questions about the circumstances of the incident. Authorities have not ruled out an industrial accident, and autopsies will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Police continue to investigate whether the victims were cleaning or performing maintenance work at the time.
