President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said he seeks the support of the Maha Sangha for the national program aimed at eradicating the drug menace from the country.
Highlighting the need for unity, the President said that all parties must join hands in this effort, regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation.
He made these remarks while attending a ceremony held today (02) at the Vidyalankara International Buddhist Conference Hall in Peliyagoda to mark the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Peliyagoda Vidyalankara Maha Pirivena.
The event was attended by members of the Maha Sangha, government representatives, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, MP Dilith Jayaweera, former Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, and several distinguished guests from various sectors.
