Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Dr. Harini Amarasuriya made an unannounced inspection visit to Al Hilal Muslim Central College and Sevanapitiya College during her visit to Polonnaruwa.
Both schools have been identified as institutions operating under difficult conditions. During her visit, the Minister engaged in friendly discussions with students, inquiring about their educational needs and the challenges they face.
She also met with teachers to discuss the issues they encounter in their duties and sought their input on the upcoming education reform plan.
Dr. Amarasuriya noted that the visit provided her with a clearer understanding of the current educational situation at the provincial level, including resource shortages and challenges faced by schools in less-privileged areas.
