The Ministry of Defence is considering transferring the security operations of the country’s expressway network to Rakna Security Lanka Limited.
The ministry held a special discussion to evaluate the existing expressway security framework and explore how Rakna Security Lanka’s operational expertise could enhance overall security and efficiency.
The meeting also addressed issues concerning pensions for widows and orphans of veterans and war heroes. Officials from the Department of Pensions and related ministries reviewed ongoing administrative challenges, and the ministry stated that steps are being taken to streamline application and approval processes to ensure timely disbursement of benefits to eligible beneficiaries.
