Sri Lanka Customs has achieved record-breaking tax collections this year, crossing the Rs. 2 trillion mark as of this evening.
The department is on track to meet its annual revenue target of Rs. 2.115 trillion for 2025, with Rs. 630 billion coming from motor vehicle duties alone.
Customs officials said they expect to collect an additional Rs. 300 billion above the target by the end of the year, setting a new historic benchmark for the highest annual revenue collected by a government tax department in Sri Lanka.
