The government is planning a new pension system for Sri Lankans working abroad.
The current system is considered insufficient. Authorities said a contributory pension scheme will be introduced using funds from the Department of Social Services, allowing workers abroad to receive higher pensions.
Legal mechanisms for implementation are currently being developed.
