The government has taken steps to eliminate political interference and corruption in the Foreign Employment Bureau, officials said.

Previously, ministers, deputy ministers, and personal secretaries were accused of taking money to provide foreign jobs. Millions of dollars were lost to fraudsters, and many Sri Lankans were misled. Today, political authorities no longer interfere in job allocations, and officers are performing their duties with dedication.

Officials said the bureau has introduced a transparent system, ensuring that deserving candidates are given opportunities abroad without political influence.
