Twelve additional counters have been set up at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake to expedite passport verification procedures.
BIA Manager, Aruna Rajapaksa, stated that the decision was taken in response to an unexpected surge in foreign tourist arrivals ahead of the upcoming winter season.
