The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning of strong winds affecting multiple regions across the country.
According to the advisory issued at 8:30 a.m. today (26), the warning will remain in effect until 8:30 a.m. tomorrow (27). The alert covers the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Northern, North-Central and Northwestern provinces, as well as the Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts.
The department said strong winds ranging between 50–60 kmph are expected at times due to a depression located in the southeastern Bay of Bengal.
Residents in the affected areas have been advised to remain cautious and take necessary safety measures as conditions may intensify with ongoing weather developments.
