Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology has advised the fishing and navigation community to remain vigilant in coastal areas from Kankesanthurai to Batticaloa via Trincomalee, and from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota, due to the effects of a developing low-pressure system in the southeastern Bay of Bengal.
Additionally, landslide warnings have been issued for Colombo, Galle, Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matale, Matara, Nuwara Eliya, and Ratnapura districts.
The public has been urged to take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this period of heightened weather risks.
