Beruwala Police have arrested three fishermen after 1.885 kilograms of hashish were found hidden in a relative’s house.
According to police, the suspects had recently returned from a multi-day fishing trip based in Beruwala. Officers from the Aluthgama Special Task Force (STF) carried out a raid following intelligence reports and recovered the stock of hashish during the operation.
The three suspects, identified as residents of the Ganeramba area within the Beruwala Police Division, were handed over to the Beruwala Police along with the seized narcotics.
They are scheduled to be produced before the Kalutara Magistrate’s Court today (October 24).
