The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today ordered the further remand of two suspects — a man and a woman — who were arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting the escape of Ishara Sewwandi, a suspect linked to the Ganemulla Sanjeewa murder case.
.Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanka S. Bodaragama made the order after taking into consideration submissions made by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) officers and the defense counsel. Accordingly, both suspects were ordered to be further remanded until November 7.
Meanwhile, the shooter who was previously arrested and is currently in custody in connection with the Ganemulla Sanjeewa murder was also ordered to be further remanded until the same date.
The shooter, detained at Boossa Prison, and the other suspects were produced before court through Zoom technology during today’s proceedings.
