Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya joined celebrations marking 80 years of the United Nations and 70 years of partnership between Sri Lanka and the UN, held under the theme “Our UN”.
The commemorative event took place at the United Nations Headquarters in Colombo. UN Resident Coordinator Marc-André Franche and several senior UN officials were in attendance.
The occasion highlighted Sri Lanka’s longstanding cooperation with the UN across areas including sustainable development, humanitarian assistance and peacebuilding, while reaffirming continued collaboration for future global and national priorities.
