The United National Party (UNP) has announced the creation of a new senior position titled Deputy Secretary General of Political Mobilization, effective immediately.
Former Minister Harin Fernando has been appointed to the post, with his primary responsibility being to unite political parties across Sri Lanka and coordinate a common program of action, party sources confirmed.
In addition, Fernando will oversee the organization of more than 1,000 meetings and rallies across the country as part of the UNP’s new political mobilization drive aimed at strengthening its grassroots network and alliances.
