The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered the remand of three individuals, including a police constable, who were arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting Ishara Sewwandi, a main suspect in the Ganemulla Sanjeewa murder case, to remain in hiding.

According to police, the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) arrested the suspects — a police constable attached to the Welipenna area in Matugama, his wife’s mother, an associate of underworld figure Matugama Shan, and another woman — for allegedly providing shelter to Sewwandi.

The police constable’s wife’s mother was produced before court on October 19 and remanded until October 24.

The other two suspects, including the police constable, were produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Nuwan Kaushalya today (October 20) and were likewise ordered to be remanded until October 24.
