A driver employed at the University of Moratuwa was arrested by Moratuwa Headquarters Police on October 18 for allegedly attempting to touch a 25-year-old female student without her consent.
According to police, the incident occurred as the student was walking near the university gate when the suspect suddenly approached, groped her, and fled the scene. CCTV footage from the university helped identify the driver as the perpetrator.
Following the student’s complaint, the police arrested the driver and produced him in court. He has since been granted bail.
